F*ck Your God

I’ve heard many Christians complain about people forcing other agendas on them yet many seem to do the same to others?

Someone will be walking down the street minding their own business and will be ferociously preached at. It’s so intense sometimes that I’ve often seen debates and hostile encounters between members of the public both religious and non-religious.

If believers recognised the negative impact that their evangelism is having on other people they might rethink their partaking in it. It’s like your wanting to convey a good God but your overzealousness does the opposite.

It’s so funny because at some point when I was a Christian I used to be out in Birmingham City Centre every Sunday afternoon after church with the hope of seeing ‘souls saved’.

Meanwhile, I have a very broken soul and had to literally air out all my business (aka my testimony) in the hope that someone could relate and be convinced of Gods existence and love.

Who was I to think that I had the authority to speak and try and convince people of their beliefs? It feels like a huge overstep, especially because I’m speaking to strangers.

I feel like it’s a show of guilt tripping people into converting to Christianity. You’ve probably heard this one - “ God is a gentlemen and he won’t force himself on you. It’s your choice - believe in him and go to heaven or live in darkness eternally.”

LIKE WHAT?!!

Can we speak about this more? I become increasingly convinced that the God that many Christians are representing is a literal narcissist.

Imagine a human saying I did this for you and so you have the choice to worship me and if you don’t well you’re doomed.

In other words supply me with endless gratitude for what I done and I’ll bless you but if you don’t acknowledge me for what over done, I’ll ruin you.

How is that love?

It literally seems like control.

And some will combat my rhetoric by saying you know God works is in mysterious ways and we ought to trust that he is loving but why should I do so if I’ve literally read what he has done and why and it just screams control freak?

Anyone who has studied narcissism knows that the narcissist has a grandiose sense of self and thinks everyone should be like them. Sounds similar to such biblical teachings like “Be perfect like God’, ‘Worship him for his breath is in your lungs’ and the list goes on and on and on.

Like why should one spend their life trying to be like someone else? Someone who speculatively exists?

I could honestly speak for ages on this matter; but Christians and religious people - stop forcing your God into every interaction.

Especially if your God is evidently toxic….
